The 'Service Iconographic Français' was delivered to the Chateau de Trianon for the King on 24 November 1824 except for the two sucriers which were returned to the facotry (MNS. Archives Registre Vbb 6, folio 143 verso), it had been entered into the sales shop records, probably in advance, on 4 December 1824 (ibid. Registre Vvi, folio 226, no. 17). The service originally comprised 90 plates at 80 francs each, 2 sucriers, 24 mounted plates and 16 compotiers in four shapes.
According to the registers the plate with the portrait of Madame de Maintenon was painted by Madame Brizou, née Jenny Denois (ibid. Registre Vj' 29, folio 228) and taken from an engraving by P. Giffart. The plate with the portrait of Chevert was painted by Madame Le Guay, an outside decorator (ibid. Registre Vj' 27, folio 254 & Registre Vj' (idem 1821) folio 208) and taken from an engraving preserved at the factory bearing the inscription "Hischbein Pinx... Potetnich Sculp."
