A BOHEMIAN RUBY-FLASH PORTRAIT GOBLET AND A COVER, for the Polish market, the flared octagonal bowl engraved with a bust portrait of a gentleman in the guise of a Roman Emperor, inscribed above Johannes Certius Rex Poloniæ M.D. Lithuaniæ, on an oval cartouche, the reverse with a crowned coat-of-arms flanked by the inscription CHRISTIANORUM DEFENSOR ET LIBERATOR den 12th September 1683, supported on an octagonal stem with waist knops above a spreading foot with waved rim, the domed cover with a similar crowned coat-of-arms and the letter J surmounted by a crown and flanked by berried foliage, with a spirally moulded spire finial (replacement finial), circa 1845
