A GEORGE III SILVER-GILT TWO-HANDLED VASE-SHAPED CUP AND COVER, on spreading circular foot, chased with a band of reeds and foliage and with leaf-capped bracket handles each terminating in grape laden vine leaves, the spool-shaped cover with detachable standing jockey finial, applied with bands of foliage and trailing vines on a matted ground and later engraved within vine leaf cartouches 'NORTHALLERTON RACES, 1838' and 'JOHN BOWES ESQR M.P. W. CHARLES HARLAND ESQ. M.P. STEWARDS.' and under the foot 'BEESWING', by Daniel Ponifex, 1807
