Lot Essay

This table would have been supplied for the new Palladian house designed by Francis Bindon in the 1750s for Harvey Morres.
A very similar side table with identical legs and swags, and almost certainly from the same workshop, is illustrated in P. Broome, The Hyde Park Collection 1965 - 1990, New York, 1989, p. 89
