A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE-CABINET

The acanthus-carved pierced trellis-filled swan-neck cresting centred by a plinth, above a pair of geometrically-glazed doors enclosing two shelves, the base with hinged secretaire-drawer enclosing a red leather-lined writing surface, drawers and pigeon-holes, above three graduated long drawers and on ogee bracket feet, the secretaire-drawer hinges stamped H.TIBATS

Provenance
Geoffrey Blackwell, Esq., O.B.E. (d.1942), by whom purchased from Owen Evan-Thomas Ltd., 20 Dover Street, W1, 20 October 1937 for 425. The invoice is inscribed in ink that it was from the Hart-Dyke family of Lullingstone Castle, Kent.
Thence by descent to the present owner
