The arched kneehole with drawer that follows the arched line is a design trait of Thomas Chippendale and can be seen on his library table supplied to Sir Rowland Winn for Nostell Priory in 1760 (see: C. Gilbert, Thomas Chippendale, Leeds, 1978, vol. I, pp. 169 & 185, and vol. II, fig. 440)
