After the half-length portrait at Windsor Castle

The sitter (1473-1554) was one of the most important men of his day in England, with great political influence and power. He was uncle to Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, wives of King Henry VIII; Lord High Admiral, Lord High Treasurer and Earl Marshal. He married Princess Anne, the fifth daughter of King Edward IV. After her death in 1511 he married Elizabeth Stafford, daughter of the Duke of Buckingham
