Lot Essay

Miss Charlotte Elizabeth Moysey (1782-1846) was the only daughter of Abel Moysey (1743-1831), of Hinton Charterhouse, M.P. for Bath (1774-1790) by Charlotte Bampflyde , dau. of Sir Richard Bampflyde 4th Bt., and aunt of 1st Baron Poltimore. She lived at Pickhurt Mead, Hayes, Kent, and died unmarried at Bathealton Court, Somerset, the home of her brother, Ven. Archdeacon Charles Moysey (1779-1859).

An unfinished study, said to be of the same sitter, is reproduced in Les Arts, June 1905, no. 42, p. 3 (as Hoppner)
