The Archibald MacMillan, 498 tons, was built in Dumbarton in 1854. Ordered by J. Kerr, who owned her throughout, she measured 147 feet in length, with a 25 foot beam, and was rated A1 by Lloyd's surveyors. Registered at Greenock, she spent her life trading between the Clyde and the West Indies - probably in rum, tobacco, sugar and hemp - until she was wrecked in 1866.
