A LEFT-HAND DAGGER with double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, ricasso struck with a mark on each side, slender arched quillons swelling at the tips, side-ring, pommel, and later wooden grip, circa 1600; an Italian stiletto with blade of triangular section, iron hilt with writhen quillons and pommel, and later wooden grip bound with copper wire, 17th Century; and a German all-steel dagger, the blade of flattened hexagonal section, fluted ricasso struck on one face with a dagger mark, slightly curved gourd-shaped quillons with small side-ring, compressed globular pommel, and hollow plummet-shaped grip (holed) made in two parts (all pitted), 16th Century
