ANOTHER, with curved single-edged hollow ground blade back-edged towards the point and with narrow fuller along the back on each face, incised 'Iohannes A Me Fecit' on one face and 'Anna Damine' (sic) on the other, iron hilt with guard of bars with double side-rings, each framing a plate with numerous small circular piercings, the inner one with thumb-ring, the outer one bent towards the hand and linked to the pommel by a bar with central moulding, knuckle-guard en suite, both decorated with a little punched foliage, short scrolled rear quillon, pommel chiselled as a lion-like head, and associated wire-bound wooden grip, circa 1640
