A CUIRASSIER CLOSE-HELMET, the rounded two-piece skull joined along the low comb with a rolled overlap, iron crest-pipe at the rear, bluntly pointed visor and upper and lower bevors pivoted at the same points, the visor with strong medial ridge, double vision slit, and lifting peg on the right, upper bevor with slightly concave front line and circular arrangement of breathing holes on each side, lower bevor shaped to the chin, single deep gorget-plate at front and rear with recessed turned borders, two hook and staple locking-catches on the right, the main edges bordered by an engraved line, and domed lining rivets throughout, English or Dutch, circa 1630
