A CENTRAL ITALIAN PERCUSSION BELT PISTOL, converted from snaphaunce, the barrel chiselled with a trophy of arms at the breech and inscribed 'L. Cominazzo' on the sighting flat, flat lock engraved with scrolling flowers and foliage terminating in grotesque heads, and with maker's initials CZ and the date inside, the hammer retained by a bolt chiselled with a putti-mask, figured walnut full stock carved with foliage in low relief, iron mounts engraved with foliage, the side-plate, trigger-guard, spurred pommel and escutcheon each centred on a further putto-mask, and original iron mounted horn-tipped ramrod, dated 1800
