Registration No. PG 5934
Chassis No. 105171
Engine No. M105002
Engine: four-cylinder, side valve, 747cc, 7.8hp. Transmission: three-speed sliding mesh. Suspension: leaf springs, transverse at front. Brakes: four-wheel mechanical. Right hand drive.
One of the best known small cars of the 1920s and 1930s was the Austin Seven. It has always been a popular car among collectors because of its character, compact size and ready availability of spares. This is a vintage example which started life as a four-seat tourer and was then converted to a two-seater retaining the original bodywork. The original log book lists its few owners over the last thirty four years.
This charming car was sold at Christie's summer sale at Beaulieu in 1987, before which a full restoration had been carried out. The present states that the car is in complete working order, regularly run and serviced by specialists Hampshire Sevens. The current MoT expires in August 1992.
