A PAIR OF PARCEL-GILT AND WHITE-PAINTED ROCOCO CHIMNEYPIECES, with integral overmantels, in the Chinese taste after a design by Matthias Lock, each looking-glass with arched frame centred by a lattice framed pavillion, above a shell cartouche, acanthus and foliate ornament, a Ho-Ho bird flanking to each side, with icicles below, the shaped frame with sectional plate, a small bracket shelf to each side, embellished with scrolling foliage, the lower part with a pierced trellis and four turned finials with a 'C'-scroll flanking each side, the chimneypieces, each with a serpentine shelf, the shaped frieze centred by a scallop shell, the jambs with scrolls, icicles and foliage, repainted, late 19th/early 20th century
