Portrait of King Henry VII, small half length in a gold and scarlet coat and black cap holding a rose

with part of a letter attached to the reverse giving an extract taken from Miss Plymley's Diary dated 21 October, 1793 recording her visit to Pitchford. 'Here is a portrait supposed an original of Henry 7th Mr Walpole mentions that there are only two originals of that monarch in England one painted witha rose in his hand and the other without, this has the rose Mr Ottley values this picture much and an Italian edition of Vetumnis printed in 1566 ...'
