Thomas Wendy was the son of Francis Wendy and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Nicolas Wentworth of Lillingston, Buckinghamshire. He married Letitia, daughter of Sir Francis Willoughby of Wollaton, Notthinghamshire and Midleton, Warwickshire. They had no children.
