Lot Essay

Hans Caspar Lang was the most distinguished of a dynasty of glass painters from Schaffhausen. In 1625 he executed the wallpainting of the Great Meeting Room of Schaffhausen Town Hall. Lang was a member of the Council from 1613 and Bürgermeister from 1642 until his death. A drawing by Lang is at Stuttgart, H.
