The circular glazed and enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters , inscribed 'Gavelle L'é AParis', within a drum case surmounted by a plinth and a circular foot with a Continental bisque figure of Neptune and an upturned dolphin, flanked by fluted columns surmounted by two orbs, on four lion paw feet and two cylindrical columns with a mount with billing doves and Cupid's trophies, on a canted concave-sided square plinth with flowerheads to each angle and trellis to the sides, on lion paw feet and on a shaped and canted rectangular base with pierced gallery, centred by a recumbant lion and fronted by pearl steps, the angles with a patera and the sides with trellis pattern, on gadrooned and raised bun feet, one ring to the right hand orb broken and loose, one foot lacking, the gallery with breaks and losses, one flowerhead later, lacking winder, with pendulum, the porcelain 19th Century
