A LATE LOUIS XVI BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY AND PLUM-PUDDING MAHOGANY CYLINDER BUREAU
The rectangular grey-veined white marble top with three-quarter pierced brass gallery above three panelled frieze-drawers with ribbon-tied laurel-wreath escutcheons, the panelled cylinder enclosing a fitted interior with three small drawers and three conforming simulated drawers with a black leather-lined writing-surface above a central short drawer with scrolled foliage and birds flanked by two short drawers to the left and a deep coffre-fort drawer with hinged well to the right, simulated as two drawers, on fluted turned tapering legs with lappeted and beaded collar and turned caps, inscribed to the underside in chalk '4954'
