A GERMAN FRUITWOOD AND MARQUETRY COMMODE
Mid-18th Century
Inlaid overall with banded panels with scrolling foliage and flowers, polychrome-painted and in various woods, the double-bowed rectangular top above three long drawers, each with three panels and a shaped apron, the sides centred by a star-motif and on shaped bracket feet, restorations and remounted, with fragmentary depository label to the reverse inscribed 'J.J.ALLEN, LTD. ... BOURNEMOUTH MR DE PINTO', the apron and feet replaced in the 19th Century
