A FLEMISH VERDURE TAPESTRY
17th Century
Woven in wools, depicting to the centre a cockerell standing by a pile of branches and a diamond-shaped object, flanked to either side by trees and in the distance with a building and a garden in front, within a border of vases of flowers and scrolling foliage and with medallions with palm branches, flaming hearts and arrows, within a blue outer slip, reweaving and patching, reduced in height at the top and possibly reduced in width
