Each with a moulded waved and cross-banded top above two long drawers simulated as two cross-banded short drawers and divided by a brass fillet, the rounded and fluted angles above slight cabriole legs terminating in foliate sabots, one commode with remains of old paper label to reverse

Lot Essay

The shape of these commodes relate to that sold from the collection of Mrs. Mary Bishop [+] in these Rooms, 4 June 1992, lot 85, and a further commode on goat's hoof feet sold anonymously at Sotheby's London, 23 May 1986, lot 62.
