This table top is closely related to that exhibited at La Mostra Mercato degli Antiquari Toscana, 2-17 June 1990, dated between 1640 - 1713. The scrolling foliate surrounds are identical in form, differing only in colour and both feature the same central framed panel, the present depicting the Ascension and the other, the meeting between the Madonna and St John the Baptist.
