A pair of Derby figures of a shepherd and shepherdess Circa 1765
The shepherd modelled to the right offering a fruit to his companion from a basket held in his left hand, she modelled to the left offering flowers from those gathered in her apron, both in flowered clothes, he with a dog at his feet, she with a lamb at hers, both standing before tree-trunks on scroll-moulded bases enriched with gilding (to his), puce, yellow and green (he with small losses to hat, she to tips of fingers of both hands, both with losses to flowers and foliage)
