A GERMAN PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE with browned twist octagonal sighted barrel rifled with seven grooves and signed in full in gold Gothic script at the breech (back-sight missing), case-hardened tang and flat lock each engraved with foliage (hammer missing), figured walnut full stock, the butt carved with a flowerhead behind the cheek-piece and with oak leaves and a scallop shell behind the chequered grip, foliate engraved steel mounts including shaped side-plate, butt-plate and trigger-guard, the latter with spurred and scrolled wooden tang, set trigger, horn fore-end cap, original brass-tipped ramrod, and much original finish, by Adam Rosen in Dyck, circa 1850
