ANOTHER, with swamped octagonal sighted barrel rifled with seven grooves (back-sight missing) and struck at the breech with brass-lined maker's mark (Neue Støckel 7580), lightly engraved enclosed flat bevelled lock with the legend 'Fide Sed Cui Vide' around the spindle and with a marine monster on the cock and bridle to the cock-spring (cock-retaining screw broken), highly figured root walnut full stock (cracked, chipped, and repaired) with fluted fore-end, the cheek-piece inlaid with a crouching lion in engraved staghorn, at his feet the engraver's initials MH conjoined, engraved staghorn side-nail washers, ramrod-pipes (one replaced) and fore-end cap, engraved staghorn patch-box cover, dark horn butt-plate, iron trigger-guard, set trigger, and horn-tipped ramrod, by Johann Valentin Heibach, circa 1700
