A PRUSSIAN SWORD OF HONOUR with steel blade etched on each face with a long scrolling standard bearing the names of lieutenants in various Prussian regiments, with their coats-of-arms set alongside, at the base on one side 'Pro Gloria et Patria 1840', with a trophy of arms, and on the other an eagle's head with a laurel branch, the cruciform hilt in 16th Century style, with straight quillons with disc terminals, one turned at right angles, pommel shaped in plan as a cross pattée, and wire-bound wooden grip, dated 1840; a German decorative sword with double-edged blade and iron cruciform hilt cast in relief with scenes of the Labours of Hercules and grotesques, 19th Century; and a German sword with broad double-edged fullered blade, and heavy cast- iron half-basket guard pierced with circular holes and bearing a relief medallion of St. George, the grip and pommel cast with scrollwork in low relief, 19th Century
