A GERMAN RAPIER, in excavated condition, with slender tapering blade, the iron hilt comprising vertically recurved spatulate quillons with small buttons and oval side-ring framing fragments of a solid plate, and flat heart-shaped pommel, circa 1630; and a German dagger, in excavated condition, with slender tapering blade of flattened-diamond section, and iron hilt comprising disc-pommel and guard, the latter with one side turned down, early 16th Century
