A PAIR OF GERMAN BACK-ACTION PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS with swamped octagonal sighted barrels rifled with eight grooves, long tangs each retained by three screws and fitted with adjustable back-sight, plain rounded locks each with swivelling safety-stop in front of the hammer, figured walnut half-stocks, the butts chequered within a shaped panel on each side, fore-ends each with carved scallop shell in relief, shaped white-metal mounts including spur trigger-guards numbered 1 and 2 respectively on the finial, stepped oval pommels each engraved with the (retailers?) name 'von der Lochau', and set triggers, circa 1830
