A Rouen blue and white helmet-shaped ewer
Circa 1720
Painted with a broad band of lambrequins below a bearded satyr's head spout flanked by stylised flowers, foliage and scrolls, the lower part moulded with gadroons, on a knopped stem and domed foot with further stylised flowers and foliage, the rim moulded with ribs and the interior with foliage and circles, the high scroll handle with further foliage (the handle a restored replacement, restored chip to rim and further minute areas of restoration to the rim, two footrim chips, very minor glaze flaking to rims)
