A Bayreuth Rococo vase
Circa 1760
Of asymmetrical baluster form moulded with wave and C-scrolls edged in puce, painted with a Venetian capriccio vignette of boating figures before distant ships, within shaped scroll-moulded cartouches flanked by palm fronds and flowersprays, with puce roses and a blue flower issuing from the tapering neck, on a similarly moulded flared foot (rose and foliage restuck, minor chipping to extremities)
