To provide increased opportunities for the military aspirations of Indian gentlemen and Princes. Strictly limited numbers to be recruited from the Indian Aristocracy receiving education at the four chief colleagues - 2 years training (in personel attendance on the Viceroy from time to time) to be followed by a more rigorous course of a year for those who survived the 1st year's test - those who emerged would be eligible for the rank, status of a British officer in staff or other extra regimental military employment - King Edward keenly interested, oil on card
