A George III cream lacquer qarter striking longcase clock, the re-decorated case painted in the chinoiserie style with figures and birds amongst flowers, the plinth on small skirted foot, D-ended rectangular trunk door, ¾-columns to the hood with ogee caddy-top surmounted by two gilt-wood foliate urn finials, the dial signed Hughes London on a silvered plaque in the arch, silvered chapter ring, the center with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, roundel engraved border, pierced blued hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with ting-tang quarter strike and anchor escapement
