A Sèvres (hard paste) bleu nouveau armorial ornithological shaped oval stand for a soup-tureen
1792, blue interlaced L mark enclosing date letters pp, painter's initial M for Moiron and gilders mark HP for Prévost, incised script A and 17
Painted after Buffon with specimen birds, named to the reverse, the centre with Barge rousse, the border with Grimpereau du cap Bonne Esperanz (sic), Jaseur de Bohéme, Merle des Moluques, Femelle du Grimpereau du cap B. E. and Tourterelle de St. Dominique, and with a gilt coat-of-arms flanked by gilt swags of flowers to the top, each within gilt oval cartouches joined by gilt scrolling foliage and swags of flowers, gilt line rim (some very slight wear to gilding, scratch to coat-of-arms and minute flaking to enamels at centre)
