1950 BENTLEY MARK VI DROPHEAD COUPE

COACHWORK BY PARK WARD

Registration No. RJJ 405
Chassis No. B417FU
Engine No. B458F
Right hand drive.

The Bentley Mark VI was launched by Rolls-Royce Motors Ltd in 1946, and although it was still possible to buy a rolling chassis and have a coachbuilt body added, the new post-war car was to be sold primarily with a standard steel body shell by the Pressed Steel Company. This is one of the few chassis fitted with an alternative body style, in this case, an elegant four-seater Park Ward Drophead Coupe.

This coachbuilt Bentley is in need of restoration. The grey paintwork and blue leather upholstery are in poor condition, although original. It was in regular use by its present owner until 1991 when it suffered damage to the off-side front wing which is now missing. The engine is in running order, however there is no current MoT. The car is ripe for restoration.
