1937 CHEVROLET MASTER SPORT SEDAN
Registration No. EGH 97 (Not currently registered)
Chassis No. 7101902797
Engine No. R79756
Right hand drive.
Master became the new name of the basic Chevrolet model in 1937. The chassis for this year was a clever, low cost adaption of the 1936 Standard box-girder type chassis and was much stronger yet lighter. The engine was updated and the Fisher body was newly designed with an enlarged glass area. The body was more stream-lined with a groove running from the front wings on to the doors where they blended into the sheet metal.
This car was manufactured in Canada and delivered to England in 1937. The original log book is available. It is described as being complete with much of the trim removed, but to be sold with the car. The body has been stripped to its bare metal and seems to be sound and free from rot. The car was last run in 1990 when approximately #1,300 was spent on the electrical system, brakes, carburettor and distributor.
