Chassis No. G/RL 165591
Engine No. 1G 166142

Austin is best known for its famous Austin Seven which brought motoring within reach of the British public, but almost of equal importance was the prestigeous Austin Ten which was introduced in 1932 and remained in production until 1947. This medium sized four door saloon has a four cylinder side valve 1125cc engine which by 1937 was developing 37bhp and was mated to a four speed synchromesh gearbox providing a top speed of 65mph.
In 1937 the previous box shaped body with wire spoke wheels was replaced with a more curvacious contemporary design known as the Cambridge with six side windows and new oval slotted pressed steel wheels. Pre-war Austins were renowned for their durability, lively performance and high quality finish. In recent years, this car has been fully restored and is believed to have had four previous owners.
