1950 JAGUAR MARK V FOUR DOOR SPORTS SALOON
Registration No. JWK 461 (Not currently registered)
Engine No. H2680
Right hand drive.
Described in The Motor April 1950 as offering "a standard of riding comfort which is outstandingly high, a standard which has not been bettered in any car of any nationality which it has been our good fortune to test...", the Mark V is the principle model with which Jaguar established its name following the war years.
The engine and clutch have been completely rebuilt during the last six months, work on the engine included a re-bore, re-ground crankshaft, new pistons, bearings and shells and the engine is said to be running beautifully. The original engine and a spare gearbox also come with this lot as do the workshop manual and a file of where spares are obtainable. The bodywork and interior are original and in need of restoration.
The Mark V represents one of the most stylish, forward looking designs of British car manufactures in the fifties.
