Its boldly carved 'Grecian-couch' arm-scrolls and reeded cone legs, in the antique style, combined with brass arabesque inlay in the French manner, reflect fashionable Regency furnishings such as those introdued by the eclectic architect, Lewis Wyatt (d. 1853) in the drawing room at Tatton Park, Cheshire around 1810
