The clock-case and stand both circa 1750, blue crossed swords marks, the dial early 19th Century
Painted with a vignette of figures in a wooded landscape beneath turquoise, puce and gilt rocaille scrolls centred by the clock dial, the shoulders applied with embracing cherubs and a figure emblematic of Peace, the pierced neck and dome applied with blue and yellow flowers at the intersections and with trailing coloured flowers, surmounted by a vase issuing flowers and painted with flower-sprays, the sides similarly painted between turquoise and gilt foliate scroll-moulded edges, terminating in four scroll feet (two scroll feet and the figure of Peace broken off and re-stuck, Peace's left arm and the outermost cupid's left wing lacking, minor losses to flowers and extremities); the rectangular stand centred by a gilt scroll cartouche and painted with flowersprays to the top and each side, edged with puce, turquoise and gilt scrolls, on four scroll feet (restored)
