Lot Essay
Robert Weir Schultz (1860-1951) joined the office of Richard Norman Shaw in 1884, where he met William Lethaby, F.W. Troup, Ernest Gimson and Ernest and Sidney Barnsley. He was a leading figure in the Byzantine Revival; St. Andrew's Chapel, Westminster Catheral (1910) is perhaps his finest example in this style. Ernest Gimson executed a number of his designs, including the choir stalls in the St. Andrew's Chapel.
