Lot Essay
Charles Wetherell was the third son of Nathan Wetherell (1726-1807), dean of Hereford and master of University College, Oxford. He became a student of the Inner Temple in 1790 and was called to the bar in 1794. He was apointed a king's council in 1816 and was elected a bencher in 1816, becoming treasurer in 1825. He was knighted in 1824.
