The rifle was completed in 1907 for H.H. Prince Youssouf Kemal, a member of the Egyptian ruling family and was the No.1 of a pair of .577 hammer ejector rifles made, each of which was sighted for 30, 80 and 120 yards and equipped with enamel-tipped foresights, with several spares. The specification requested that they be 'as light as possible...well balanced...rather butt-heavy'. Hammer ejector shotguns are rare; hammer ejector rifles exceedingly so
