A KHORASSAN COPPER INLAID BRONZE EWER with cylindrical body, rounded and flat shoulder, tubular neck and shaped covered trough spout, loop handle and recurved base to the foot, the body engraved with scrolling flowering vine around linked roundels outlined in copper containing vine around stylised birds flanking a central crescent, a band above of two panels containing scrolling motifs around a kufic honorific inscription flanking the central panel of meandering vine around the copper-inlaid kufic signature of Hasan ?B_suhil?, a and of finely worked kufic inscription below, the shoulder with loosely scrolling vine around a naskh honorific inscription, the neck with an engraved arabesque panel below the spout, the spout cover with pierced holes, pendant crescent motifs at each side, the handle with angular thumbpiece, a knotted panel at the base, 13th century (areas of slight rubbing and corrosion)
