Lot Essay

Two very similar openwork floral mirror backs, one of oval and one of octagonal form, both catalogued as 17th century, are in the Salar Jang Museum, Hyderabad, cat. nos. XLIX-122 (fig.22) and XLIX-131 (fig.8).
