Best quality, scroll-back action-body, rolled-edge triggerguard, best bouquet and scroll engraving with much hardening-colour, the underside of the action-body engraved with a vignette of pheasant in a wintry landscape, signed 'Wal Howe', boldly-figured stock, the barrels with game-rib and scroll-engraved breech-ends
Weight: 6lb. 7oz., 14 5/8in. stock, 28in. barrels, approx. ¼ & 3/8 choke, 2¾in. chambers, nitro proof

Lot Essay

The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1987. It appears to have been very little used. The engraver, Walter Howe, was head engraver with Webley & Scott and he has subsequently executed commissions for Brown's since his retirement
