manuscript on ivory paper, 265ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 12ll. of neat black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, gold, green and red margins between black rules, blue outer rule, blue, orange, gold and green marginal floral roundels, section markings in gold, occasional marginal notes in black and red, gold outer margin between black rules, sura headings in white thuluth on blue, orange or gold illuminated cartouches within similar panels, (pages trimmed to outer margin, some damages and repairs, occasional marginal medallions cut out, some staining), opening bi-folio with an illuminated shamsa on each page containing invocations (the first remounted), second bi-folio with full-page illumination containing the opening sura (damaged), the third with illuminated heading and gold clouds between the lines of text, final bi-folio of Qur'anic text similar, final two bi-folios with illuminated tables of invocations, (some rubbing and minor damages), contemporary stamped black morocco and decoupe binding of gold and blue (old damages and repairs, covers reversed)
