manuscript on flecked buff paper, 302ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 15ll. of neat black naskh, gold roundels between verses, gold margins within black rules, red outer rule, sura headings in white on gold cartouches within illuminated panels with polychrome decoration, gold and polychrome marginal medallions to mark the sections, (some smudging, negligible staining, occasional damage to edges), opening double bifolio with gold and polychrome floral illumination, final folio illuminated with colophon written in central roundel within gold clouds signed by Hafiz 'Abdullah known as Tobekhanali, a student of Ahmed al-Kashif Khawaja Sara and dated 1218, contemporary maroon morocco binding with stamped and gold arabesque and cloudband medallion and spandrels, maroon morocco doublures with gold painted lattice and border (scuffed and repaired)
