Contemporary green morocco gilt, triple fillet border, flat-backed spine with overall rococo design composed from various tools including swags, an urn, a lyre, prince-of-wales feathers and incorporating a red morocco lettering-piece, turn-ins with metope and pentaglyph roll, g.e., by ?Edwards of Halifax (spine slightly scuffed). Provenance: early Heberesque inscription on front blank; Simeon Warner (armorial bookplate); Picturesque antiquities of Scotland. London: for the author [etc.]. 1788-1793. 4 parts in two volumes, 4° (250 x 200mm.). 103 etched illustrations, some printed in bistre (occasional light soiling).
